With their enemies out cold, our heroines steal their guns and lift the barrier blocking the train. While it seems like they might just have the opportunity to run to the train in time, a new group of Nationalist soldiers arrives and opens fire. The girls and Oscar take cover in a shack. Lidia explains in voice over that she could see their lives leading to this moment. We get a montage of earlier Cable Girls scenes and an emotional moment where the foursome pledge their love to each other.

Writing this in January 2021, having watched the entire series over December. I absolutely love your reviews, they make me laugh out loud with the Spanish mixed in! And I completely agree with you: Carlos should never have died and he and Lidia should be together. What a scorching hot idiota, and actually a far more complex characterthan Francisco and a better fit for Lidia! Please do write your review of the final season!
Cable Girls (Spanish: Las chicas del cable) is a Spanish period drama television series produced by Netflix. It was released on Netflix between April 28, 2017 and July 3, 2020, consisting of 42 episodes.
The streaming platform has yet to announce a release date for the fourth season, but Blanca Suarez and her \"chicas\" Maggie Civantos, Nadia de Santiago, Ana Fernández, and Ana Polvorosa, got together to film a video to announce the exciting news.
Talking to each other on the phone, the ladies are just as excited as we are about the Season 4 renewal. \"Are you serious So quickly\" Blanca asked before Nadia adds, \"Super serious. There's a fourth season!\" Maggie is all of us as she laughs for joy.
So, when is the release date With a usual eight to nine month span between season premieres, viewers should expect to stream Cable Girls Season 4 from their devices sometime in mid-2019. While we wait for Netflix to share the official details, here is everything that went down in third season, or as Lidia would say, la tercera temporada. WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD.
While everyone is convinced Eva died in the fire, Lidia (real name: Alba) is sure her daughter is alive and turns to her girls and ex Francisco (played by Yon González) for help finding her. Meanwhile, the fire also causes Ángeles (Maggie Civantos), who returned to see her best friend get married, to get arrested for the murder of her husband by Inspector Cuevas, who has a plan for keeping her out of jail.
At the end of the last season, Angeles had died, Carlota and Oscar had fled to Spain, Marga opened a business with Pablo and Lidia traveled to New York with Eva and Francisco to keep her daughter safe from Carmen, Carlos's mother. She left Carlos only a letter to explain her decision.
The new season picks up with Lidia in New York, but the show does not stay there. Lidia finds a letter from Angeles's daughter, Sofia, that states that she had traveled to Spain to join the militia to fight in the Spanish Civil War.
In her quest to find Sofia, she learns that Carlos -- who had disappeared after Carmen died -- is a colonel in the militia and is the one who can help Lidia bring Sofia back. However, Carlos still evidently bitter that Lidia took his daughter away from him, tells Lidia that she can have one daughter back in exchange for another. Lidia refuses to cooperate and she and the girls try to find another way to get to Sofia. In the meantime, they learn that Carlos is a spy for the nationalists and they possess photographs proving the same.
In the first two episodes of the new season alone, it is quite clear that fans will be tuning in to watch a very different show -- gone are the glamorous and sexy parties, what remains is a country torn apart by a fight that is very much alive in the 21st century.
Knowing this is the final season and the fact that it is set during the Spanish Civil War does not bode well for the characters -- not all could survive, especially considering how the Spanish Civil War ended. The nationalists won and became a precursor to the rise of fascism in Europe.
Fans may know that the actors portraying Lidia, Carlos and Francisco (Blanca Suarez, Martino Rivas, and Yon Gonzalez respectively) were together in another successful show called 'El Internado' that aired from 2007 to 2010. There is yet another cast member from 'El Internado' who is joining 'Cable Girls' this season -- Denisse Peña who played Evelyn is playing Sofia -- Angeles's daughter.
Then, halfway through the first season, she falls for a female coworker. She confesses her feelings and the three of them begin a polyamorous relationship. The viewer sees her come to terms with her sexuality. Not only is Carlota queer, but she has fully developed motivations and backstory. Her queerness is simply a part of who she is, not her defining feature.
I did not enjoy the season 4 final at all, but was kind of hopeful that the writers will give Carlos a chance to have a relationship with his child or a new love interest at the least. A consolation prize and a happy ending of sorts.
I just started season 2, but I felt the need to do so more research before I went in to deep with the tv show, because of what Lidia did with the rotary plans. I tottally I agree with everything you said. I was rooting for him, but finding out that he kills himself is so disappointing. Carlos deserves so much more. He was defenitely was favorite character and the only one who made keep watching series because, as you said, all her friends will have a happy ending as predicted. I am so happy I found your article, because if I watched the whole thing to find out that my favorite character dies, my heart would be so broken.
